How To Prep Your Home For the Fall
Hello, Autumn! We’re ready to embrace the new season ahead, are you? With the first weekend of fall upon us, it’s time to start to think about how to prep your home for cooler weather. Not sure where to begin? Here are a few items you’ll want to add to your checklist.
Prep Your Home For Fall:
- Schedule An HVAC Tune-Up – The change in seasons is the perfect time to schedule an HVAC tune-up. This will help prevent repairs, catch problems early on, ensure your system is running efficiently.
- Clear Leaves from Your Gutters – As the leaves turn, and eventually start to fall, they can clog your gutters. However, this is more than just an eyesore. Clogged gutters can keep water from running away from your home, meaning that you might find yourself with a leak.
- Change Your Air Filters – When was the last time you took a look at your home’s air filters? They worked hard during the warm summer months — it’s time to make sure that they are changed for the upcoming season.
- Turn Off Your Outdoor Hose Bib – As it gets later in the season, you’ll want to make sure that you disconnect your outdoor garden hoses and turn off the water running to the hose bibs. When the nights eventually drop below freezing, you don’t want the water to freeze, expand, and crack your hose bib.
