With warm weather finally here, we hope you can take time off to enjoy some fun in the sun. But before you leave your home for vacation, make sure your plumbing and HVAC systems are prepared for your absence – and don’t forget to pack the sunscreen!
Turn Up Your A/C
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: why cool your home if nobody is there? This is a great way to spend extra on your energy bills and who wants to do that? Turn the system up a few degrees so it won’t kick on while you’re away. This will also reduce the risk of a problem occurring.
Shut Off The Water
If you’re going away for an extended period of time, it’s wise to turn off the water main. What would be worse than coming home to a leak or a flood?
Check For Leaks
It’s important to check your sinks, pipes and drains for leaks before you leave. If you find one, have it repaired immediately because leaks tend to worsen with time. Don’t forget to check the hoses to your major appliances during your inspection.
